Arts & Culture

approx

The aim of the programme is to identify new themes, events, communities and individuals within contemporary art and culture that reflect changes, future challenges and possibilities of our society.

We promote Finnish art and culture, support cultural exchange through residencies and research projects, and facilitate cross-disciplinary and international collaborations.

All of our projects are realised in collaboration with local partners in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

Mediating Spaces

The focus of the Institute’s Arts & Culture Programme is to explore changing physical, social and imaginary spaces – and how the changes are reflected upon in arts and culture. These questions will be explored in several programme strands:

Helsinki London Design Camp 2010-2012
Programme for promoting Finnish design, leading up to 2012 when Helsinki is World Design Capital.
