Rediscovering the Knowledge Society The Society programme of The Finnish Institute in London focuses currently in steering the knowledge society discussion towards what we think is a more beneficial direction. Our aim is simple: we want to create a shared vision of the future of education for the knowledge society, and make it happen through international collaboration and learning.
Open Knowledge and Open Society. We believe openness is essential for a true knowledge society and our aim is to explore the benefits of transparent, collaborative and sharing-based practices, such as open data.
We encourage cross-disciplinarity and international collaboration between partners in our networks. We engage in research, broker people, link ideas, and provide our partners with a platform to discuss and act. The public services are in crisis in the Western countries, and our aim is to study the roles of the public, the private and of the community sector in service provision.
